OUR SPORT MAGAZINE: THE STRANGEST SPORTS IN THE WORLD

Hi everybody!!!

We start a new unit titled: WIN OR LOSE. I do not know if you practise any sport, could you share in a comment....if you are a sport girl or boy, the sports you like most and finally your experiences about winning or losing??

Throughout this unit, we will elaborate a sport magazine, but not the common one talking about football, tennis etc...we are going to focus on WEIRD OR STRANGE SPORTS IN THE WORLD.

You have to follow these steps:

1. Make a research about different sports you do not know around the world.
2. Choose the one that appeals you most and tell the teacher.
3. Design a page of our sport magazine. On that page, you should consider the following aspects:

• NAME OF THE SPORT
• ORIGIN
• NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS
• RULES TO BE PLAYED
• YOUR OPINION
• INSERT A PHOTO OF THE SPORT.

This project is going to be INDIVIDUAL and deadline is: 20th December

If there is any volunteer to design the cover pages of our magazine,his/her final mark will be increased.

FIRST PROJECT: AMAZING FOOD AROUND THE WORLD!!!

Hi everybody!!!

Let´s face our first project of the year...it is titled: AMAZING FOOD AROUND THE WORLD!!

To develop this project, you just have to follow these guidelines:

1. Make a research on the Internet, looking for unusual and curious dishes of food around the world.
2. Choose a recipe or dish you consider interesting to share with your classmates.
3. Design a poster presentation taking into consideration the following aspects: name, ingredients, location, characteristics, if it is eaten in a special day or moment in a year or if it is daily eaten...
4. Elaborate a presentation, you can decide your framework (powerpoint, prezi, moviemaker...) In it you can include titles but written text is FORBIDDEN. I want you to overcome your fears  and try to be fluent and natural when you speak English.
5. This project is going to be done working in PAIRS.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions and doubts about it.

Deadline 22nd october.

WELCOME TO OUR ENGLISH CLASS!!!

Here we are, together, to start a new year in our English lessons. I do not know your expectations for my subject but I realise that lots of students like you, are not able to talk in English for several reasons: they scare, they feel insecurity, they feel embarrassed or even a little bit ridiculous....This year, things are going to change...we will feel confident and impressed with ourselves. To achieve these goals just two rules to follow inside my classroom:

1-PARTICIPATE!!!
2-TALK AND TALK, YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES FOR SURE, however you are not going to be penalized for talking incorrectly SO, TRY TO DO YOUR BEST

LAST PROJECT: THE WORLD AND MY LIFE IN THE NEXT COMING 50 YEARS

Hi guys,

Here you are the instructions to design our last project: THE WORLD AND MY LIFE IN THE NEXT COMING 50 YEARS.

To talk about future, we need to refresh our mind about how to express future time in English. That is the reason why I want you to work in pairs or threes and be a teacher for one day.

Matches are the following:

Lucas and Desi: WILL FUTURE

José Domingo, Paula and Nacho: BE GOING TO FUTURE

Carla, Titi and Diego: PRESENT CONTINUOUS WITH FUTURE MEANING

To plan these lessons, you will be given some instructions in class but mainly you must focus your explanation in two main points: theory and practice.

After working with grammar you will elaborate a presentation. Feel free to choose your format. You will include the following aspects:

• How world will be in 50 years
• How my house will be in 50 years
• How my personal life will be in 50 years.

Deadline for this project: 18th June.

SPANISH ERASMUS STUDENTS AROUND THE WORLD

Hi guys!!!

Here you are an interesting project for you to learn and travel around the world.

This project is going to be developed in pairs.

We can divide the project into two parts:

1) Design a leaflet or brochure introducing the more significant aspects of the city and country where you decide to live.

ATTENTION: To design this leaflet you should take into consideration these aspects.

• You can´t copy from the Internet, you must use your own words otherwise you will be penalized in your final mark.

• You must include some pictures.

• When you elaborate the leaflet you can focus on the aspects you want: monuments, culture, gastronomy, customs and traditions...

• To give a format or framework to your leaflet you can use publisher office in the office pack where you can find how to make leaflets on different ways.

2) Record a video of the anecdotes of the best and worst moments lived in that country.

As you all know, creativity, originality as well as accuracy at your oral and written skills are important factors for you to get a great final mark.

Deadline for your leaflet: 7th March.

Deadline for your video presentation: 16th March.
